We Bought a Van! Let the Adventures Begin…
If you’d told me a years ago I’d be converting a van with my husband, I’d probably have laughed and gone back to packing the tent. But here we are — proud owners of a Citroën Relay high top, slowly (and lovingly!) turning it into our little home on wheels.
We've always loved travelling — mostly around the UK — and festivals have been a big part of our lives. From muddy fields and dodgy tent zippers to sunrise coffees brewed on a camp stove, it's all part of the magic. But over the years, the idea of camping became a bit less romantic and a bit more... damp. So, we finally said, "Let’s get a van."
And honestly? It feels exciting and so right. No more wrestling with tent poles in the rain or waking up to soggy socks. Instead, we’re dreaming of cosy mornings, soft lighting, and cups of tea in the middle of nowhere — with just the three of us (Hubby, myself and our little dog),and probably a lot of snacks.
We’re doing the conversion ourselves, which is equal parts thrilling and completely overwhelming. Neither of us are carpenters or electricians, but YouTube, Pinterest, and lots of strong coffee are getting us through. I’ll be sharing the progress, the wins, the mistakes, and everything in between right here — because I know I’m not the only one who’s ever thought, Could I actually do this?
This is just the beginning of our Vanlife Diaries — festival trips, weekend escapes, and maybe even some van fails. I'm excited to share the journey, especially the perfectly imperfect parts
